Yakult Builds a Happy Gut, Happy Life for Penangites
PENANG, 22 September 2024 – Yakult (M) Sdn Bhd, in collaboration with Bagan Specialist Centre and Homey Food, organized the highly anticipated “Happy Gut, Happy Life” event, empowering and inspiring over 200 participants with fresh insights into the importance of gut health for mental wellness. Held at Dewan Serbaguna Perkampungan Juru on 22 September 2024, the event aimed to raise awareness about gut health and its impact on mental well-being, emphasizing how a healthy gut contributes to mental wellness and overall quality of life.
An assortment of activities, ranging from free health check-ups, mental health assessments and consultations, exhibitions, health seminars with experts, aerobics fitness sessions, a family-friendly coloring contest, and a lucky draw, garnered significant public interest. Participants also seized the opportunity to learn sushi-making basics in an exclusive class as part of the half-day program.
Notable speakers included Dr. Low Jong Sern, a psychiatrist from Bagan Specialist Centre, who shared insights on the connection between the brain and gut, explaining how gut health affects mental wellness and vice versa. Additionally, Homey’s resident dietitian, Ms. Samantha Soo Pui Menn, provided valuable tips for optimizing diet to enhance mental wellness. These experts offered meaningful insights into improving overall well-being by nurturing gut health through a balanced diet and probiotics intake.
“The gut is often referred to as the second brain in our body. By understanding the vital connection between them, we can enhance both our mental and physical health,” said Dr. Low Jong Sern.
With contributions from Asia Eye Specialist Centre, Podiatric Footcare Centre, and the Seberang Perai Tengah District Health Office, the event helped participants gain accurate information about their current health status.

当天活动内容丰富,包括免费的健康检查、心理健康测验,展览、健康讲座、尊巴舞教导环节和适宜家庭参与的填色比赛以及幸运抽奖,吸引了广泛的公众兴趣。参与者还得以在半天的活动中体验独家寿司制作课程。
当天主讲人包括来自Bagan Specialist Centre的心理精神专科医生,卢忠胜医生,向民众分享了肠道和大脑联系,为肠道与心理健康提供了新的见解。此外,来自Homey的营养师,苏佩雯女士分享了如何通过健康饮食提升生活中的幸福感。两位主讲人探讨了如何通过均衡饮食和摄取益生菌来促进肠道健康以改善整体健康提供了新的见解。
