Yakult hosts ‘Greatness Begins from the Gut’ community event to promote children’s digestive well-being

Penang, 30 August 2025 – World-leading probiotics manufacturer Yakult (M) Sdn. Bhd., in collaboration with KPJ Penang Specialist Hospital, successfully hosted the highly anticipated “Greatness Begins from the Gut” community event at Tan Si Eng Chuan Tong Hall, Butterworth, Penang. The event attracted over 100 parents and provided valuable insights into the importance of children’s gut function, along with practical tips for supporting digestive wellness and overall well-being.

Notable speakers included Dr. Lee Yi Mei, Consultant Pediatrician from KPJ Penang Specialist Hospital, who highlighted the vital role of gut bacteria in children and shared practical advice on managing gut-related issues. Additionally, Ms. Chau Shin Hwa, Dietitian from Homey, provided valuable guidance on optimizing children’s diets to ensure they receive essential nutrition. Together, these experts offered meaningful insights into improving overall health by nurturing the gut through a balanced diet and adequate probiotic intake.

The program also featured a wide range of engaging activities, including free health check-ups and consultations, exhibitions, expert-led health seminars, Zumba sessions, children’s colouring contest, and a lucky draw session. Children also enjoyed a hands-on nutrition workshop guided by professional dietitians, where they learned how to prepare nutritious meals. With contributions from Yong Opticare, Pacific Speech Therapy and Learning Centre, and the Seberang Perai Utara District Dental Office, the event further helped participants gain accurate insights into their current health status.
